| Organic and Fair
All Serendipity cotton styles are made from 100% organic GOTS certified cotton and garments are also GOTS certified in Full finish, meaning throughout the entire production process. GOTS, Global Organic Textile Standard, sets strict criteria to spinning, dying, production procedures, use of additives, wastage etc. GOTS also includes criteria for ethical social conduct.
All cotton garments are also fair trade SA8000 certified, an international standard for Social accountability improving work conditions, based on the principles of thirteen human rights conventions. This ensures fair practise and working conditions regarding health and safety, discrimination, working hours, wages etc.
Organic Wool styles are certified by USDA and NASAA. Spinning and dying is GOTS. O-wool styles are blended with 30% silk.
The extra softness of Serendipity
Serendipity fabric qualities are carefully selected. Rib, Interlock and Velours are made from melange yarns which means that fibres are dyed – as opposed to dyeing the yarn or fabric. This produces the softest garments imaginable with deep long lasting colours.
Dyeing and printing
Dyeing and All-Over-Printing are GOTS certified – an organic dye-process free of AZO colours, formaldehydes and heavy metals as well as no use of optical bleaching or chlorine. All prints on rib are water-based and GOTS certified.
Trimmings
Buttons are made of Taugua nut. These expand when wet (being washed) and shrink again to original size as they dry. Push buttons and YKK zippers are nickel free.
